Meet your teachers
Elizabeth Mander
Elizabeth Mander is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach who has achieved board certification through the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaches (NBHWC) as well as the International Association of Health Coaches (IAHC). She earned a Master of Science degree in Health Coaching from International Health Coach University and is also a trained Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) group facilitator. In addition to instructing students in the Coaching Intensive Practicum, Elizabeth is also a Coaching Circle Coach for IIN’s Health Coach Training Program. As a Health Coach, Elizabeth specializes in motivational coaching and creative expression.
Merritt Tracy
Merritt Tracy is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach with over a thousand hours of coaching experience. Her practice is focused on women’s hormonal balance and corporate wellness. She graduated from IIN in 2012 and provides individual and group coaching through her own practice and in partnership with healthcare practitioners and companies. Merritt is an instructor for IIN’s Coaching Intensive Practicum and a Community Coordinator in IIN’s Hormone Health Course. She is passionate about helping women find balance in their lives and hormones.
Course Modules
Modules 1-3
-Learn about the three phases of a coaching program, how to co-create a coaching relationship, and deepen understanding of scope of practice
-Gain insights into the power of listening and the skills needed to create an effective and safe coach-client relationship
-Dive deeper into the key skills you need to communicate with clients and facilitate behavior change
Modules 4-7
-Explore self-awareness and how to shift perspective that allows clients to overcome limiting beliefs
-Take an in-depth look at how motivation and emotion are resources for goal-oriented behavior, and other techniques for client-identified change
-Learn how to work through resistance and ambivalence, as well as how to provide accountability to empower clients to break through difficult roadblocks and track their own progress
Modules 8-10
-Learn and practice how to effectively tap into a client's strengths with the power of positivity
-Gain an understanding of how to facilitate group coaching sessions that allow you to navigate different personalities and learning styles
-Review and discuss the NBHWC Code of Ethics and consider the professional responsibility of coaches to conduct themselves in an ethical manner
Modules 11-12
-There are no new modules released during these two weeks, but rather, take time to wrap up your assignments and study for the final exam
Certificate
Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion. Share your credentials on LinkedIn or print your certificate and hang it in your home or office! This is a great way to showcase and celebrate your continued education, success, and commitment to bettering the health of people around the world.
The Coaching Intensive Practicum is IIN's NBHWC-approved training program. This course will satisfy the education requirements needed to apply to take the NBHWC's exam to become a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). The NBHWC continues to gain worldwide recognition as a key player in advancing the credibility of the health coaching field, and their board certification is regarded as a global benchmark of professional coach training.
This course is also officially recognized by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a Continuing Coach Education (CCE) course for continuing education credits.

The prerequisite for this course is the completion of our Health Coach Training Program or a certificate from another health coaching program. You must also read and speak English.

What is included in the course?
In weeks 1-10, a new module will open every Monday that you will access in the Learning Center. Each module includes several prerecorded lectures and handouts, a self-assessment quiz, and study resources.
Does completing this course automatically qualify me to take the credentialing exam?
No. Upon successful completion of this course, IIN graduates are eligible to apply to sit for the certification exam offered by the NBHWC. Students interested in applying should consult NBHWC in advance of their course graduation date to take note of application requirements and registration deadlines.
